As a Realtor® in Central Alberta often clients ask me how many foreclosures are currently on the market in the Red Deer area to gauge whether things are getting better or worse in our local market. I’ve decided to do a foreclosure breakdown count monthly detailing the total number of foreclosure homes on the market and chart how the numbers trend.
Would you consider a real estate market improving if there are fewer foreclosure properties? It would be a reasonable assumption and since Dec 12th, 2017 we have noticed fewer foreclosures hitting the market and more being sold.
If you are interested in capitalizing on the purchase of a distressed or foreclosure property a good time is now. There will likely be fewer ongoing.
Currently on June 1st, 2018 in Central Alberta there are:
89 foreclosure units for sale (down 9 since Feb 22nd)
42 single family detached foreclosure units for sale (down 16 since Feb 22nd)
17 condominium foreclosure units for sale (up 1 since Feb 22nd)
14 acreage foreclosure units for sale (up 1 since Feb 22nd)
6 mobile home foreclosure units for sale (equal since Feb 22nd)
10 other (half duplex, townhome…) foreclosure units for sale (up 3 since Feb 22nd)
In a few weeks with a sample of more data, I will repost these counts and start charting to see how the numbers trend.
